Alan Powers presents ‘Written on Water: Eric Ravilious, watercolour, boats, rivers and oceans’

Alan Powers, author of Eric Ravilious, artist and illustrator (Lund Humphries, 2013, reissued in paperback 2022), will explore the constant theme of water in this artist who grew up by the sea in Eastbourne and lost his life in 1942 in a plane off Iceland. Alan curated the exhibition Eric Ravilious, Imagined Realities at the Imperial War Museum in 2003, and has published widely on twentieth century British art, architecture and design.
