Covid 19 update
On 24th March all recreational and leisure activities on the Thames were effectively banned by the PLA, but there was better news on 13th May, when, following the slight easing of lockdown, some activity was allowed. In line with government guidelines social distancing of 2 metres must be adhered to and the only group activities are restricted to people living in the same household. There have been a few kayakers and sailors out, but we are hardly back to the normal level of traffic and won’t be until the lockdown is eased further.
Because of the situation we have reluctantly decided that it is necessary to cancel this year’s popular Party on the Pier which had been planned for July. However once our furloughed staff are back at work you can be assured that planning will begin in earnest and with enthusiasm to organise an exciting programme of events on and off the water and we will look forward to seeing you all.
In the meantime, stay safe!
