A Virtual visit to the foreshore habitat at Chiswick
By Brenna Boyle, Wild Capital
Sit back and enjoy a virtual tour of your local stretch of Thames foreshore. When the tide goes out a range of wildlife is temporarily revealed. Glimpse numerous species of invertebrate and fish which hide out under rocks or in shallow water. Discover how birds utilise this tidal habitat and learn tips to better identify them from both appearance and sound. Meet some of the mammals that can be encountered down by the river. Understand how the composition of animals found in this environment has changed over time and will continue to change into the future. This engaging talk will equip you with knowledge and skills to get more enjoyment from a visit to the Thames at low tide in the future.
